Hello all!
I apologize for the large gap in between blog posts. I've been quite ill and wasn't able to get around to posting. But, I'm back at school now and ready to resume engaging with your young scholars!
So, just an update. All is going well in K-1 Music, however, I have moved up to 4th grade as an Assistant Teacher, so don't be surprised if your children report that they are not seeing me as often, though this only largely effects Mrs. Sipe's class.
Other than that bit of news, much is the same in Music. We sing and learn and listen and participate every day. I love hearing and seeing just how quickly your students progress and the voracious appetite that they have for new material and ideas.
Just a reminder, 1st grade will start using their theory books on Tuesday of next week (29 September 2015), so please sure that all theory books are brought to school by this date. With very few exceptions, my expectation is that this book will stay at school in a safe place designated by myself and/or the Lead Teacher. Again, please make sure that you purchase "My First Music Theory Book" by Lisa Ng. There is another copy out there called "My First Theory Book" by the same author, but they are not the same book. The book we need is "My First Music Theory Book."
And overall, let me just thank you, parents, for your constant kind words and reassurances. Nothing brightens my day more than hearing that your children talk about me and report on the goings on of music class.

*One final note: The concert for K-1 will be on 18 November 2015. It will be at the Higley Performing Arts Center.
